The Daily Mail have today reported that Italian giants Roma are rumoured to be interested in signing Spurs defender Vedran Corluka. Once a first teamer at White Hart Lane, Corluka has fallen down the pecking order of late due to the sensational form of Kyle Walker, and is ready to seek a move in order to secure first team football.
With Euro 2012 fast approaching, Corluka needs to be playing first team football, and short of a long term injury to the fantastic Walker, this does not look likely at current club Spurs.
For their part, Roma have been looking at the full back to replace Nicholas Burdisso, and are in a position to offer the first team football Corluka needs. Lazio are also interested in the player, and a possible swap deal with versatile Diakite could be on the cards. The French defender is able to play in a variety of positions, and could provide cover both at full back and also in the heart of defence, with Redknapp not shy about making it clear he is after a centre back to reinforce his flourishing squad come the January transfer window.
